A holiday home on a wonderful site surrounded by large trees, with river and marina views. Planning around these views, the form of the house evolved into two skillion roofed rectangular pavilions separated by a double volume entry and circulation space. A continuous balcony (angled to the river views) connects the living and sleeping pavilions to the east. A projecting dining room box with recessed picture window captures southern marina views.
Honed concrete blocks, painted vertical cladding and rendered insulated panels form the robust, low maintenance materials required to achieve a casual holiday home atmosphere. Builder: Mal Tapper
