Phipps St, Bicton 2016

A significant reworking of an 80’s style residence. The existing pool , cabana and living room openings were kept and the rest re-worked. This involved a second storey with master suite and living room opening onto a balcony to capture river and park views. A separate garage/music room wing was added and existing ground floor spaces re-configured into separate zones for a family with adult offspring.

The existing northern orientation to external spaces and the pool was retained. The clients oriental furniture (and Chinese doors) were designed into the re-worked plan and the tones of this furniture were used to influence the interior colour palette as well as the exterior dark face brick. This brick combined with timber lining provides texture to the exterior and is balanced by a neutral render.
