Channel View, Dawesville 2015

A north facing mid-size block overlooking the Dawesville Cut. Major design requirements include maximising views over the channel, maintaining privacy within a new housing development and shelter from strong south westerly winds. The house wraps its occupants via strong cantilevered flat roof forms which fold up from the walls below.

Voids beneath the roof are primarily comprised of large glazed area to the north and more solid elements to the south. A palette of materials including rendered masonry, dado plaster and colorbond cladding combine to produce a distinctive and landmark waterfront property.
